How much to order for tile, plank and carpet — counted in the units the shop actually sells, which is boxes and packs rather than square feet.
Add as many rooms as you need. Every tool takes feet and inches straight off the tape.
Ceramic, porcelain and stone. Handles several rooms, grout gaps and layout patterns.
Plank flooring by pack coverage, with the right waste for the room shape.
LVP and click vinyl. Same maths, different pack sizes.
Sold off a 12 ft roll, so waste comes from the roll width rather than a percentage.
Solid and engineered board, by bundle coverage.

Starting points, not a standard. Add more for rooms with alcoves, angles or many doorways.
| Tile size | ft² each | Per 100 ft² |

Nominal sizes with no grout gap and before waste. The calculator adds both.
Tile and plank flooring are sold by the carton, and the carton is what you pay for. A room needing 218 ft² of coverage from boxes holding 15 ft² means 15 boxes — 225 ft² — because there is no such thing as most of a box.
Almost all of it is cuts at the perimeter. A straight grid gives you one straight cut per edge tile, and the offcut often works on the opposite wall. Turn the layout 45 degrees and every edge tile becomes two triangles, most of which fit nowhere.
Tile colour shifts between production batches. A box bought two years later will not match the floor it's patching, so the spare box you buy today is the only one that ever will.
